If you want to live a cruelty-free lifestyle on a budget, you might be searching for some cruelty-free brands at the drugstore or your local department store. If you are, this list is for you! Sometimes it is assumed that cruelty-free brands are only prestige or high-end brands but there are so many drugstore and affordable cruelty-free brands out there too!
That’s why I decided to make this list of drugstore cruelty-free brands, and I use quite a few of these too! This guide includes brands that can be found at your local Target, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and more! The following brands are cruelty-free which means that no animal testing is conducted on ingredients, anywhere during or after production, does not sell in markets where animal testing is required by law, and are not owned by a cruel parent company. Some of these brands have vegan options as well and I have also noted which brands are 100% vegan.

Please remember that product formulas do change, and drugstore brands change their formulas more often than higher end brands. Be sure to double check the ingredients before you purchase if you are looking for a vegan product. This list is updated weekly to bring you the most recent information about these brands.
Even if you do skip over the generic brands that test on animals, with these cruelty-free brands that offer wider ranges of products you won’t be missing those brands at all! L’Oréal, Rimmel, Covergirl, Almay, Secret, and many more brands you might be used to do test on animals, but the brands on this list are a great alternative and work just the same, if not better!
I hope you find this list helpful and if you have a question about any brand’s cruelty-free status, be sure to leave a comment below.
