Today, there are so many cruelty-free brands out there, including brands for shampoo and conditioner. No matter your hair type, there are cruelty-free alternatives for you and what your hair needs.
Giovanni has many shampoo and conditioner product lines that you choose from depending on what your hair needs. Their products range from anti-frizz, repairing, volume, moisture, to sleek and shine. They are also currently the #1 selling Hair Care line in the United States Natural Products Industry.
2. Kevin Murphy
The Kevin Murphy hair care line is only found in salons but their shampoos and conditioners are pure gold. They are especially known for their purple shampoo that eliminates brassy/yellow tones from your blonde or silver hair.
My personal favorite. The Paul Mitchell hair care line is divine. They have the only purple shampoo that I have tried that actually lathers and cleans my hair gently and effectively. I can go an entire week without washing my hair when I use this shampoo and conditioner duo. They also have an amazing Tea Tree shampoo collection that helps lift impurities and naturally nourish your hair.
4. Lush
Whatever your shampoo goals, they have a shampoo for you. Lush makes all their shampoos without synthetics and only the best natural ingredients, including nourishing fruits and vegetables. They have many vegan options as well.
5. Yes to
Yes to is one of those brands that are affordable and it seems that they have everything. For a drugstore-type shampoo and conditioner, this one is going to be your go-to. They are sold at Target and Ulta and contain 99% natural ingredients. They are Leaping Bunny Certified as well!
6. Acure
Acure is another great drugstore cruelty-free brand. They have skincare as well as hair care and are also vegan-friendly. Their products range from clarifying shampoo to volumizing and they even offer dry shampoo.
7. Amika
Amika is a high-end cruelty-free hair care brand that literally offers everything. Pre-treatment, dry shampoo, leave-in conditioner, hair masks and whatever you want to target on your hair. They have the whole package. You can find Amika at TJ Maxx and Sephora in stores.
8. Lani
Lani is a tropical hair care brand and their most popular product is the Tropical Hair Treatment. They are UK based and are only accessible online in the US, but they offer free shipping everywhere. All products are packaged into glass bottles and jars, are made with food-grade ingredients. They are always free of parabens, synthetic fragrances, silicones, mineral oils and are vegan-friendly. They also support recycling or reusing their cute little bottles to help out the environment a little bit more.
9. Drybar
Drybar is another cruelty-free hair care brand that has vegan options. Their shampoos tend not to lather quite as much, in my experience, but my hair was also left extremely soft and silky. My all time favorite leave-in conditioner is Dry Bar’s Blonde Ale. They have so many product lines that you are guaranteed to find one for your hair type.
10. Pacifica
Pacifica is another drugstore cruelty free brand that offers hair care. They are a great cruelty-free option if you are also looking for 100% vegan products on a budget.
Recently, I was able to verify that Not Your Mother’s is also 100% cruelty-free. NYM is another great option if you’re looking for affordable hair care.
12. Raw Sugar
Raw Sugar products are made fresh from fruits, certified organic extracts, plants, essential oils and other plant-powered ingredients. They’re clean, cruelty-free and have vegan options. If you’re looking for an earth-friendly option, this is for you!
